The fiber content:
If the fiber content is 100% cashmere then try to verify the content. Cashmere is a kind finest wool, so first to verify whether it is wool or not a burning test is sufficient. Take small fiber from the product and burn it using a lighter. If it burns but doesn't melt and stop burning after removing from fire then it shows the properties of wool. It should smell like a burning feather or hair and the residue after burning should be black powder. This powder should be hollow bead. This is very simple test and can be verified easily as well.
Short or recycled fiber:Virgin cashmere fibers measures between 2 to 3 centimeter. If possible take a look at a fiber of the item.
Fineness of yarn: Cashmere fibers should have a diameter between 12-18 micron.
Country of origin:
The best quality of cashmere fibers are found in inner Mongolia. Wherever they are found, first they collect and process it and the importer from different countries imports the yarn. They again process it to make it final products. The process includes weaving, dyeing, printing, ironing, labeling and packing. Similarly wholesaler from different countries import the products and distributed the product to retailer. This is the general practice in cashmere industries. So the label must include the country where it is made and wholesaler/dealer who imported it. The wholesaler/dealers are generally tagged their label mentioning everything.
Care instructions:
Cashmere is very delicate fiber and proper attention should be given during washing, ironing, folding , storing etc.
